Structural Asymmetry in Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration Lead Investigator: Daniel Peterson Institution : University of Washington (IBIC) E-Mail : djpeters@u.washington.edu Proposal ID : 632 Proposal Description: Step 1. Identify pathways associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) occurrence and get a more complete picture of genes potentially involved in AD etiology. Step 2. Identify genetic interaction among genes within AD pathways. We plan to use regression model to investigate the interaction effect, where health/disease status is response and the combined genotype information from two or more SNPs is predictor. Step 3. Investigate the effect of genetic interaction on brain structure. We will need NACC data in this step as a confirmation that the SNP interactions affect the disease occurrence through affecting brain structure.
